Archipelago National Park

Introduction

Archipelago National Park is the first marine protected area to join the PAN Parks network and as such opens up stunning new opportunities to enjoy and explore Europe’s wilderness.

As one of the largest archipelagos in the world the park and its surrounding area contains thousands of rugged rocky islets and forested islands, separated by open sea. The nature trails guide you to the diversity of the natural features and the life of the archipelago. In the National Park visitors can use their own boat, the ferry services, or take part in guided boat trips arranged by local enterprises.

For the nature enthusiast Archipelago gives you an opportunity to see a diversity of both marine and terrestrial nature that can not be found in any of our other parks. You may catch a glimpse of a moose or find yourself being observed by curious seals.

Archipelago National Park forms the core area of the large Archipelago Sea Biosphere Reserve, which was established by UNESCO in 1994 to promote sustainable development, and research on interdependency between man and the nature.
