A visit to Borjomi Kharagauli National Park gives you a sense of exploration and adventure. The best time for plant enthusiasts to visit the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is in June, when a see of flowers welcomes all visitors. A very special experience is to see the rhododendron flowering in April-May on the Kharagauli part of the National Park. Some more patience is needed to observe some of the National Parks wildlife such as brown bear or red deer. Spectacular panoramas will inspire landscape photographers in September and October when the view ranges from the Black Sea to the Great Caucasus and every leaf is a flower.
Tired of hiking and just want to relax, if so it is time to discover Georgian traditional activities in the small traditional village of Marelisi. Here you can experience honey, cheese, butter and wine making. This is a real experience which can be found nowhere else.
The surrounding region of the National Park abounds in a great variety of natural landscapes, historical and architectural monuments, resorts and settlements with the population distinguished for its ethnographic and cultural features. Borjomi as one of the most popular resorts of Georgia is remarkable for its mineral waters, unique nature and abundance of historical monuments.
More than 250 cultural and historical monuments around the park which dates back from 1st century A.D. gives you chance to get deeper to the country’s rich history and traditions. In particular there are two easily accessible churches dating back to the 9th century, namely Green Monastery and St. Mary's Church which lies amongst the rocky landscape of Qvabiskhevi valley. The surrounding countryside of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park contains several fortresses and domed cathedrals, noteworthy for their wonderful medieval frescos.
